Online Portfolio

This portfolio represents a sampling of the projects I've worked on. For many of them, I handled all aspects of production and deployment.

I apply thoughtful analysis and creative design to produce engaging courses and interactive applications. I have an M.S. in Instructional Technology, and over twenty years’ experience with a broad range of clients. I have a proven record working remotely with little supervision to produce professional results, on time and above expectations.

Bulletin Builder Web Application (http:www.bulletinbuilder.org)
The Bulletin Builder application is a Ruby on Rails app that allows users to create custom bulletins. It outputs bulletins as HTML, RTF, emails (and listserv), as well as PDFs. The app includes almost 50 models, over 100 gems, tens of thousands of lines of code, and over 400 tests. From 2014-2017 I was responsible for managing the full stack (linux, nginx, Ruby on Rails, MongoDB, Javascript, jQuery, Bootstrap). I was the project’s sole developer from 2015 to 2017.
Bulletin Builder PDF Editor
The Bulletin Builder application outputs to PDF. This page uses custom Javascript, jquery, and a special columnizing library to create a client-side tool, which automatically splits the content into columns, inserts page breaks, and allows users to fine-tune where the breaks are. It also inverts the appropriate pages, and imposes the pages correctly so that pages can be printed in booklet format. The resulting html is then rendered as a PDF file.
